Gold Star Restaurant in Worcester

I told a server they should let people know that they take cash only before they take orders and she said “there’s an ATM across the street. By the way there’s a sign on the door.” I went to get money from the ATM and there was no sign on the door. While I went to the bank, my friends were still in the restaurant and she said “I’ll slap her up. They better not leave, I recognize all their faces.” Before all of this occurred, we had her tip ready, but since she disrespected us, we did not tip her. Soon after we left outside, another employee comes out and says “You guys really left without tipping her, that’s her income, she has kids to take care of.” No one is ever obligated to tip, but it is the right thing to do. Just not when an employee disrespects a customer. Get your bands up.

Good choice for breakfast. It is Cash only. Its sort of a mix and match menu. For example you have to order bacon, pancakes and hasbrowns seperately. You Can't beat the prices. And you will likely have to wait but the turn around is quick. They do have a small parking lot but you may have to find street parking.

Kids pancakes had a weird taste they wouldn't eat them rest of the food was okay.

One of my favorite breakfast joints! Also wicked yummy homemade hash. The waitresses give great service as well(dawn) and holly who sadly moved on.

Great coffee, great home made corned beef hash. Eggs done to perfection . Scrambled/over easy - both great. Service good, prices reasonable. Two thumbs up.

It's very noisy but is a typical diner and the food is fantastic. The scrambled eggs are the best anywhere. This is definitely a go back to place.

Their service is friendly and their food is good but they use precooked bacon. Bacon is my favorite part of a breakfast dish at a diner or restaurant. And because they don’t fry the bacon on their grill I was disappointed

This was my first time here and the breakfast I had was very good. I had the Italian sausage and 2 eggs and toast and was good. I would be back when I am in the area. You should try this nice place also staff was very nice and you will not leave disappointed and the prices are not bad at all. A nice place to have breakfast off the grid in Worcester ma .

One of my favorite diners in the city! Standard diner food with great prices. My go to dish is their corned beef hash if I'm sitting in. If I'm on the go their breakfast sandwiches are spot on. Service is prompt though it tends to get packed on weekends so expect a short wait for a table. This is a venue for 4 or less in your party as booth space ia limited.

Best breakfast this side of Worcester. Friendly staff. Prices are super reasonable too, considering I always leave feeling full (good portions). An entire meal for my boyfriend and I usually comes out to ~$15, never any more than that (excluding a tip). Love coming here, just wish I had more time to swing by or that they were open later. Breakfast food is great any time of the day, don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

How I managed to live in Worcester for so long and not stop by this local spot is beyond me. I've driven by it hundreds of times. Well, my son and I stopped in for breakfast and he exclaimed THIS FOOD IS TASTY! and scarfed down an entire order of french toast and some eggs.Will definitely be coming back some time.Cash only though, so there's that.

Why ? 1) value - meals under $10 and under $5 2) service - happy,respectful and quick.3) atmosphere - old and new so cool 😎 ☝Here's a few tips : 1) check everything by asking, why ?Family recipe and authentic ethnic offerings are abundant at this location. 2) I'm going back here the next time I'm in this area. Why ? Because I want to experience this type of dining pleasure when I find a secret spot !! My advice folks : try it for yourself and you'll thank,the hard working family here for the legacy they have created in the community !!

Very friendly service, with a nice, welcoming atmosphere. It's a little confusing at first, as there's no sign indicating whether you need to wait to be seated, or you can just go right on ahead and sit down. There also doesn't appear to be a menu, everything is written on boards above the kitchen area, so if you're shortsighted, that's gonna be an issue for you. The food is pretty good, tasty wholesome American food. Service is quick and precise, and the servers are polite and helpful in describing what's available. If you've ever been to a diner before, you know what to expect here. Overall, a pretty good diner for breakfast and lunch.

This is a great diner, one of my favorites good food very affordable. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because Spiro the owner used to have the hottest girls working there, you would go there on a hot day in the summer and they would all be in skimpy clothes and short shorts there skin was glistening because of the heat. They were all really friendly and nice too It was better than hooters. He still has some hot girls working there but not like before. Ah the old days!

Love this place. Food is great and price is very cheap. They don't take credit or debit, so make sure you bring cash only. Weekends can get packed and wait time can vary anywhere from 15 to 30 mins, but its definitely worth it. Place is small, rest room is in the basement which you would have to go through the kitchen and down the stairs to the left, a bit creepy but other than that great place to go to for either breakfast or lunch.

Excellent food, customer service is fantastic. Very small inside,so it may take a bit to get a seat,especially when you have a large party. Went there about 4 years ago when visiting family. Definitely remembered, and went back. Does not disappoint.

Wonderful 😳! Came here with family and it was the perfect atmosphere! All day breakfast is one of the many great selling points that gold star restaurant has. Good food, low prices, and very family friendly.Ill be coming back to this spot!
